Artist Replica Guitars: FOR SALE - Lynyrd Skynyrd - Allen Collins' Gibson Firebird III #3
We also produce artist replica guitars such as Lynyrd Skynyrd Allen Collins' Gibson Firebird III #3. This started life as an 2023 Epiphone Firebird III (Same exact wood and same exact neck as a Gibson Firebird). This guitar was constructed for gigging and staying in tune, and is not a 100% replica of Collins' Firebird III #3 HOWEVER, we can produce a 100% replica of Collins' Firebird III #3 by simply mounting the Gibson short vibrola tremolo and mounting Gibson banjo tuners. The headstock is also different from a true 1964 but that can't be helped. We did clone the Gibson by changing the truss rod cover to a Gibson brand.
What makes Allen Collins' Firebird III #3 so special? It was modified by Collins to include 1 P90 pickup at the bridge and a mini humbucker in the neck position. We custom wired this guitar per instructions from one of Allen Collins' close friends (Information from an interview with Steve R. on the wiring of Allen's FB III#3). The combination of the P90 pickup and the custom wiring produces what we call the Free Bird Sound! See the Firebird in action here!

Options: (The guitar is a 75% replica of Allen Collins' Gibson Firebird III #3 that sold at auction and was owned by a close personal friend. His detailed explanation and restoration of Allen's guitar was our blueprint for this build. The options included in this build and those options not included in this build are listed below.

- Matched tone pot 523KOHM with .022 uf/400 v Orange Drop Capacitor(For Strat on Steroids sound from the P90) (Included)
- Gibson short vibrola tremolo (NOT INCLUDED): Again, we built the guitar to stay in tune, and it does stay in tune, HOWEVER, if the customer wants a 100% authentic replica (minus the headstock of course) we will install a Gibson short arm vibrola tremolo for an additional $350.
- Body Relic - NOT INCLUDED (Considering this is set-through guitar neck performing a relic job at this shop would be risky. The risk is warping the neck during the clearcoat stressing. We can perform this body relic at an additional $500 but the customer would have to accept responsibility for a warped neck as a result of the stressing process)
